I was never going to be a writer, though I grew up with constant stories in my head. One day I saw a picture that inspired me to think up a scene that would fit into the image. Instead of just imaging it out in my head like I often did, this time I wrote it. At first it was just a scene but that became a chapter and before long I had the main story behind the Titanian Chronicles trilogy mapped out in my mind. I decided the story was too good to waste wallowing about in my head so I made up my mind to write and publish it, even if I was the only one to have a copy. That was about 18 years ago and I haven't looked back... and along the way, though I was always a story teller, I fell in love with writing, .

Child of Prophecy is a mesmerizing final entry in the Titanian Chronicles by Leisl Kaberry. This is a beautifully written fantasy that made me want to read the entire collection of books in the series. There is so much at stake in this entry. Lenna, an elf maiden, is distraught at the theft of her child. The child has been stolen by the Dark Mage and gifted to the Warlord Moorlan for an heir. Can she get her child back? Will Wolflang, an elf who loves Lenna, accept the perilous mission assigned to him by a mysterious stranger, and what are the consequences for his people? Alkarrien, the Dark One, is on a quest for the merndaicur shells, and the ones he has laid hands on point him in the direction where the others are. His mission is to destroy Titania. Will Afeclin help Lenna protect the shells, and can Ormnhi stop the Dark One from engulfing the whole land with evil?
This story is cleverly plotted and filled with twists. Leisl Kaberry creates a magical world rife with conflict and characters pitted against each other. The author does an impeccable job in world-building, creating a setting where mages, elves, wizards, and other creatures of magic live side-by-side and infusing it with conflict. The quest for power, magic, love, loyalty, and adventure are amongst the themes that are skillfully written into the story. The story is transporting and filled with characters that I enjoyed following. The writing itself is spellbinding, and I adored the author’s way with words. Child of Prophecy reserves many surprises for readers and it is the kind of story for anyone wanting to escape from the doldrums of everyday life.
