Butterfly Hearts: Whispering Willow, Book 2 by Delia Latham and Elle H. Raye is not just a story of romance and redemption, but also of forgiveness and allowing love to replace dread and apprehension. As we return to Whispering Willow in the Texas hill country, where intentions and realities usually differ, two new occupants are in the two tiny cabins. Sean McGregor, a handsome firefighter pilot, is seeking out a place to quiet the noise in his life and occupies cabin one. This wealthy, arrogant, self-proclaimed lifelong bachelor is about to meet the one woman who is not impressed with his money or his charm. Julie Hughes occupies cabin two. She is a devout Christian, mother of one son, and a proud grandmother to one granddaughter. She is not only unimpressed with McGregor’s accomplishments, but she genuinely dislikes him. When God puts it in her heart to love this man and pray for him, she struggles but gets on her knees out of obedience. As the mismatched pair learns more about one another, both have a change of attitude and begin to share more personal information. For Sean, Whispering Willow provided the rejuvenation he needed, while Julie was learning to love the unlovable.
Butterfly Hearts by Delia Latham and Elle H. Raye is more than a Christian romance; it is a simple guide to salvation and beginning a new life. The verbal imagery is powerful and moving. The illustration of Julie holding the Bible to her chest and the sensation of embracing God Himself was special. Other tender moments capture the reader and draw them deeper into the story. As Sean and Julie discover more about each other, they experience ups and downs while navigating their relationship. Life lessons of being judgmental or assuming are evident throughout the story. The authors present a journey of love and finding faith that readers will find interesting, informative, and entertaining. Latham and Raye have invited us to return to Whispering Willow for another beautiful story of hope. Readers should also try the first book in the series, Willow Tree Hearts.
