In Bucket List of Hope by Debra Erfert, the author has used the play on words in the title to her advantage. The reader’s attention is not only caught by the title but by the opening prologue which is just as attention-grabbing. The author incorporates adventure, murder, mystery, and detective work in the most interesting, amusing, nail-biting, and romantic way. The author takes the reader by the hand and leads them through the adventures that the main character has decided to embark on to make up for the lost time in a relationship that was going nowhere.
The main characters are Hope Alexander, Dustin Gallagher, Matt Stone, Bethany, Julie, Charlotte, Diana, Brady Callahan, Chief James, Professor Linda Summers, Adam Gallagher, Seth Blackhurst, Jacob, Mia, Clare, and others. Each of these characters fulfills an important part of the story and has funny, sad, and nail-biting turns until the very end, which is the best-kept surprise for the reader. The Bucket List of Hope by Debra Erfert is a fast read but one that anyone would enjoy as once you start reading, you cannot stop. Thank you for a most enjoyable and relaxing story, Debra.
