Brit vs Scot by Anna Durand is part love story and part an epic battle of man vs. man. The book’s setting is a wedding at a nudist resort. The female protagonist, Jessica O’Connor, broke up with her boyfriend, Domhnall Sterling, but he’ll stop at nothing to win her back, even though she makes it clear she has no interest. The male protagonist, Grey Dixon, is in love with Jessica, but she considers him to be only a friend. Grey does all he can to win Jessica, but Domhnall fights to stop the potential romance. But then, another wedding guest has her eye on Domhnall. Who will end up in a relationship with whom? This book features characters from three of Durand’s other works—Hot Brits, Hot Scots, and the Au Naturel Trilogy.
Anna Durand’s novel, Brit vs Scot, was a whole lot of fun to read! She did an excellent job of keeping me guessing about what was going to happen next. I won’t write more about the plot because I don’t want to give it away; do yourself a favor and read the book. Durand does an exceptional job of developing her characters. As a man, I sympathized with Grey Dixon. Sometimes he messes up royally, and that’s part of what makes him an appealing character. Jessica O’Connor sounds like a wonderful woman, kind and loving, yet firm when she needs to be. Even the antagonist, Domhnall, isn’t a bad guy once you get to know him. Another charming aspect of Brit vs. Scot is its British and Scottish terminology. Just one caveat: the author notes that her book contains explicit sex, and that is true. I recommend Brit vs. Scot to rom-com fans.
