In Born A Bastard, Christopher P. Childs begins with his earliest memories and follows a path through the chaos of his upbringing. You’ll meet the key figures in his life: his family, his friends, and the people who crossed his path. He was a young child in a desperate struggle to break free from a life defined by cruelty and despair. It could have destroyed him if he hadn’t found ways to cope with the pain, regardless of how unhealthy these coping mechanisms were. He had tried to end his life to escape the unending nightmare. This story will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as Chris tells a harrowing tale of perseverance, determination, triumph over domestic violence, molestation, beatings, and hurtful words, especially being called a mistake. Brace yourself for a dramatic and inspiring story of the human spirit to survive and thrive, even in the darkest of circumstances. His fear, hate, shame, and anger severely affected his mental health. His mother struggled with being a single mother in the 1970s when Chris was born. Being an unwanted child led him to live in illusions. His connection to Christ was a guiding light in his life.

Writing Born a Bastard has been a deeply personal journey for Christopher P. Childs. It forced him to confront his past, to relive painful memories, and to reflect on how those experiences shaped him. By sharing his story, he offers hope to anyone who feels trapped in a spiral of rejection. This book isn’t just about the struggles Chris faced; it’s about the choices he made, the lessons he learned, and the person he has become. His goal in writing this book is to motivate everyone to stand up and embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. He emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about such situations. He advises us to make use of support systems and encourages individuals to seek help, no matter their age. To me, this story portrays the resilience of the human spirit, no matter how far you’ve fallen. It is a highly recommended read, reflecting total honesty and clarity of conscience.
