Have you ever had a bad case of hiccups? What about non-stop sneezing? How about a case of incessant giggling? Princess Daphne is known for her cheery nature. She loves to make people laugh. Her motto is, “Love never fails when happiness is the goal.” But one morning, a hiccup and a sneeze are followed by non-stop giggling. First, her sisters, Angel Scarlett and Fairy Cora think she’s just being funny. Then they realize that Daphne really can’t stop giggling. What are they to do? They seek out Mr. Wiggles who once had the same ailment, only he can’t remember what he did to make the giggling stop. They finally find someone to help and the solution, they discover, is really quite simple. Do you know what they had to do to stop the giggling?
Karen M. Bobos's picture book story, Bobos Babes Adventures: The Case of the Giggles, is a charming little story about infectious giggling. The three sisters are on another adventure, this one to solve the problem of their sister Daphne’s giggles. Told in rhyming verse and with beautiful illustrations, this story will warm the hearts of young and old alike. The three sisters work well together as they try to solve the problem. They have lots of friends to consult, those they have helped or had friendly associations with in the past. There is lots of magic, laughter (of course) and sleuthing fun as the sisters work together as sisters should. This is mostly a fun read, but it also promotes the real magic in the power of sisterly love.
