This gripping novel, which was inspired by real events, follows the harrowing journey of engineer Javier Torres and his girlfriend, Carolina. As they navigate the treacherous landscape of a dangerous cartel, Javier becomes the target of a violent attack by hitmen. Miraculously surviving a hail of bullets, Javier and Carolina find themselves on the run, desperately seeking answers to why they were targeted and who they can trust. With every twist and turn, the characters are pushed to their limits, uncovering shocking truths about those around them.
Author Linda M Bello-Ruiz has crafted a powerful novel that combines suspense and intrigue with authentic emotions, balancing the threat level perfectly to convey real-world danger without any of the Hollywood bells and whistles overdoing it. The story is a heart-pounding thriller that delves into the complexities of betrayal, trust, and survival, all of which are enhanced by the visceral close narration of the author that really gets inside the protagonists’ heads.
