“Dogs are family no matter what breed they are, and they deserve our love, focus, attention and care.” That pretty much sums it up. If we’re serious about bringing a dog into our home, we have to accept them as part of the family and give them our love and affection and so much more. After all, they trust us and love us unconditionally, so why shouldn’t we do the same for them? But, if you are bringing a dog into a home with young children, you really should do some research first. Some breeds are better than others for a child/dog-friendly home. And there are so many dog breeds to choose from. Whether you decide to invest in a purebred or adopt a mutt from the pound, it’s always a good idea to know something about what you’re bringing home.
And here’s the book to help you. Written for dog-lovers of all ages, Max Parrott’s book, Best Dog Breeds For Children: A wildly fun illustrated guide (Furry Friends Series Book 2), is an interesting look at a wide range of dog breeds suitable for children. The author includes dogs of all sizes, including the smaller hounds and poodles, the tiny chihuahua, and Shih Tzu, as well as the larger dogs like the ever-popular golden retriever and the mastiff. The book is divided into sections to help the reader find particular dog breeds. Each breed is introduced with a short description and some distinguishing traits and it’s accompanied by a photograph of the dog. Not all child-friendly dogs are represented in this book, but there is a good selection to help new dog-owners, those with children, choose the right dog for their family. An interesting and entertaining guide.
