Inspired by his children, Cori Miller penned Ben Lost His Body! Finding Ben disembodied in his bed, his brothers race through the house carrying Ben's head. The older brother panics and the baby brother crawls around enjoying the melee as they look all over for Ben's body but can't find it. They even search for reasons on the internet for the sudden disappearance of a body but can't find an answer. A powerful sneeze lands Ben's head in an unlikely place, and, as they rush to rescue him, a loud thump sounds through the house. Before the three boys can find Ben's body, their father sees the scene, and his reaction surprises them.
Cori Miller's playful tale promises to capture a wide audience with the story of a boy who loses his body and the ensuing antics as his brothers attempt to discover its location in an engaging quest. Children who seem to lose things frequently will certainly identify with Ben. Parents always seem to say, "You'd lose your head if it wasn't screwed on," but in this instance, Ben has misplaced his body, causing a hilarious dilemma. The fun rhyme scheme makes this book a delight to read aloud, and the unity between the characters is heartwarming, giving the story tremendous appeal to caregivers who hope to promote sibling harmony. The father's reaction to his son's problem enhances the humor, and the illustrations by Abigail Chrystine provide a comedic dimension. Readers who enjoy amusing stories with enjoyable chaos will love Ben Lost His Body.
