Baron of Blasphemy by Tammy Andresen is an exciting historical novel in the Lords of Scandal series. It follows two protagonists–Abigail and Chadwick. To many, Chadwick was a rake, and he wouldn’t disagree. His family squandered his wealth before he came of age and the only tangible thing left was his Barony. To save himself and estates from the debtor’s prison, he needed to marry a woman that came with a huge dowry. But what noblewoman will want the renowned scum for a husband? Chadwick was matched to Abigail by her brother-in-law, Bash, not because she wasn’t noble, but her reputation was allegedly sullied. Well, Abigail wasn’t having it and Chadwick wasn’t enthused either; all he wanted was the dowry. To get that dowry, Chadwick must drop his bad boy facade and try to win Abigail’s heart.
Baron of Blasphemy by Tammy Andresen is an exquisite book that will appeal to lovers of historical romance. The book had an interesting plot that harped on never judging a book by its cover. Things are often never as they appear to be, so we must not assume or conclude. Tammy developed the characters perfectly, attaining an impressive feat of keeping them engaging in such a long series. I enjoyed the sprinkle of humor throughout the book and the funny relationship that Abby had with her sisters. Her ability to go soul searching and subsequent growth were beautiful to see. The story was straightforward to follow, and the writing style was simple. Tammy has written a book that will be a hit on the big screen.
