Bali is a beautiful island. A province of Indonesia, it is filled with historic temples and picturesque views every which way one looks. Unfortunately, there are certain areas of the province that are overrun with tourists and many other, equally unique sites worthy of a visit that are missed by the general tourist. Exploring Bali is an adventure well worth the effort.
Gundi Gabrielle, a best selling author and classical musician, has traveled extensively and always seeks the most unusual, unique and off-the-beaten-track places of interest. Her recent book, a tour guide, Bali – Zen Traveller: A Quick Travel Guide, takes the reader on a journey to a fascinating land to see places and experience things few people who visit Bali will ever enjoy. Complete with attractive photos, the guide takes the reader through the Bali countryside on several different routes, and allows the reader to learn about different cultural events, the religion, the temples, the volcano and the lovely, almost untouched beaches. There is much to see and experience on this island, much to see away from the usual tourist sites. As the author introduces her book, Bali is “quiet, serene, breathtaking, charming – magical… That is, if you get away from the tourist crowds and overdeveloped settlements in South – Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak etc. "
Planning a vacation in Bali? This is the book for you. An armchair traveler? This is a fascinating read. The writing is informative, simple and interesting, and the pictures complement the text. Well done!
