In Artama & The Watchtower Portal: The Second Journey by Bruce Paul, Artama's first forbidden trip across The Plain was a miraculous success. His success, however, attracted some unwanted attention and soon The Town was in danger of being destroyed by greedy men seeking a passage across The Plain. Artama had to act fast and, in his wisdom, chose to save The Town by leading the beastly men away, even if this was almost certainly guaranteed to cost him his life. Artama, however, had no intention of leading this barbaric group to what they sought. His plan was to move them around in circles as he bought time to escape their ruthless hands. Only thoughts of his people and of Kora kept him going. As days turned into nights, the beastly men grew impatient and he knew the end was near for him. But just when he thought all hope was lost, the most unexpected of saviours showed up. This second journey will be the hardest, but it will also be the most educational for Artama, both on a personal and intellectual level.
Artama & The Watchtower Portal: The Second Journey by Bruce Paul is truly a one of a kind, enchanting YA fantasy story. The plot, the characters, and the scenes were all proficiently developed to bring to life a story unlike any other. The way Artama's character was portrayed and developed is guaranteed to keep readers engrossed and eager to follow him on his journey. The vivid descriptions of characters and scenes made it even more captivating and fun to read. This was all brought together through a flawless and poetic writing style that was so befitting of the theme and gave extra edge to the story. The story contains important lessons for the intended audience; it is okay to challenge the norm and seek for answers outside the box, never completely ignore the wise words of the elders, and that with great power comes great responsibility. I can't wait to read the next part of this adventure.
