Adult coloring books are becoming increasingly popular as a form of relaxation and a means to decompress amid periods of anxiety and depression. Naro Yana’s Anti Anxiety Coloring Book is full of images to color, simple images without the intensity of tiny and intimate details. From an ice cream cone and an ice cream truck to a donut covered in sprinkles (the artist chooses the flavor), there is something to capture everyone’s interest. I particularly like the sunflower image, a favorite in my garden. This image also fills the page, allowing the artist to indulge in the many colors of a sunflower garden.
Naro Yana’s Anti Anxiety Coloring Book is for adults and teens with 50 bold, easy, simple, and big designs to help the artist relax. The images on each page range from animals and flowers to patterns, funny things, and food. The bold outlines of each image are a bonus in preventing the artist from coloring outside the lines. The single-sided pages prevent the colors from bleeding through to the next page and its image. The large images make the art of coloring stress-free and will help with easing anxiety. The positive comments at the beginning and the end add to the morale-boosting effect of this book. Another morale booster is the donkey with large movie star glasses which boasts “good vibes only.” This is a great tool to help one relax, to soothe the mind, and allow all the negative vibes to dissipate.
