Anomaly: Beyond the Rabbit is the fourth book in The Rabbit Saga by Ellen C Maze. In this continuation of the story, the Rakum race has almost been wiped out. The only surviving members of this once powerful race are the two Elders, Kilmeade and Canaan. Meanwhile, the rest of the Rakum are transforming into humans and there is nothing that can stop them. Being defeated by the God of Humans was something transformative. Elder Kilmeade believes he has heard some angelic visitors and he starts a spiritual journey to find answers that he desperately needs. Canaan follows him on this journey without realizing that this will be a battle of will, need and want. The need to keep their race going is strong, but how can they keep their race intact when they are trying to find the meaning of their existence?
This was such an epic novel. I absolutely love Ellen’s style; she is a magician with words. She weaves such an intricate tale that comes alive in your mind and you are literally transported into the story. Canaan and Kilmeade are some of the most intriguing characters of the series, so putting the focus on them was a great idea. These two elders have very interesting lives and beliefs and it was fascinating to see what would happen next. The tension was thick, the pace was fast and the narrative was smooth. I loved how Ellen made sure that I wasn’t able to put the book down even once. I loved the flow, I loved the characters and I loved the ending!
