As it was for other American citizens during the previous few days, everything was happening so fast for Congresswoman Madison Gladstone. First, it was the suicide of her mentor and close friend Senator Boyd Radford. Then followed the bombing of a mall in Saudi Arabia, the explosion of US-owned oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, and a blood bath at the OPEC offices in Vienna. Shuhada’ Alnnabi − a terror group from Saudi Arabia − claimed responsibility for all the attacks. This saw the global economy reel into crisis and activists and protestors all over the world took to the streets. The terror group promised more disaster if their demands were not met. Will the US and its international allies give in to the terror group’s demands, or will they be able to contain the situation? Before Senator Radford’s demise, he had confided in Madison that people in America’s political circles were being blackmailed. Who was behind the blackmail and was Radford’s death tied to the Shuhada’ Alnnabi? With the help of an FBI agent investigating Radford’s case, Madison is determined to get the facts behind Radford’s death. Find out more in Alan C. Moore’s An American Conspiracy.
Alan C. Moore’s An American Conspiracy will appeal to enthusiasts of conspiracy thriller novels. There is action, suspense, tension, blackmail, guns, bureaucrats, radical groups, and so much more. Moore forges an enthralling plot, loading it with a huge cast and an engrossing storyline. He presents the narration by switching between the scenes of the designated characters. He does a great job developing the characters as he boldly enunciates their traits through engaging conversations and introspection. Peter Baylor is a typical political opportunist with an exaggerated sense of importance and self-entitlement. Madison is an outspoken, brave, and fierce woman who does not mind speaking her mind whenever she deems fit. Moore displays sentiment in his words, making me feel terror, rage, agony, loathing, resentment, and despair among other emotions from the cast.
