A-M-I-L-O-U ... and That Who Is: Observe, Recall, and Reflect Book by October Wind and Carolina Son is an inspirational story that speaks about self discovery and capturing the spirit of our inner self. Amilou is an intuitive girl who can see the aura around her classmates' heads. The story addresses bullying and will take readers on a journey with Amilou and Rudi Rouzer and speak to them about bullying, tolerance, acceptance and nurturing relationships with others with kindness. In the story, Amilou is compassionate when she handles her bully and her courageous story will encourage children, parents, teachers and educators to share the gifts we have with others.
The spiritual concept in the story has been conveyed beautifully to kids in a manner that they can comprehend the theme easily. It is not very easy to speak to children about spirituality and the author does it perfectly here. The pictures and the simple way of explaining the spiritual concepts make the book an engaging read for children. Amilou's compassion, kindness and grace dominate the story along with the importance of rainbow colors. The interactive exercises at the end of the story are very useful for children to ponder, reflect and recall what they read in the story.
The book speaks about the colors that dominate the aura and by the time readers finish the book, they will say what Amilou says:
'I go 2 it
inside me, and
shine my light,
4U2C
I Am.....
That Who Is.'
