Louise was introduced to horses by her mother when she was a little girl, and since then, her love for horses increased steadily. Her mother had always been a pillar of strength, supporting her through good and bad moments, like when Louise was injured while riding and when her horse was rushed to the veterinarian. Jack is the horse that steals Louise's heart. Despite the shortcomings and the decision to change stables, they have a wonderful journey together with their trainer, Jayne, who is understanding and a good guide to Louise. To find out more about their incredible journey of resilience and determination and how the transition from Chasing Dreams to Chuster Stables turns out, pick up Amateur Dreams: Reaching New Heights by Alexis Minnich.
Amateur Dreams by Alexis Minnich is wonderfully written, and the author's compassionate approach to writing about horses makes the book unique and thought-provoking about how we treat animals. What stood out for me was the warm tone and excellent narration which made me more curious and eager to learn about horses. This made the story very effective in passing on the intended message. I loved how vividly the author described the events and emotions of the characters, which helps the reader create a mental picture of what is happening. The plot line flows seamlessly, leaving no room for confusion, and readers will also appreciate the easy-to-understand language used, which makes it accessible to all readers. I look forward to reading something else by this author.
