Almost Paradise is the second book in the Infernal Fall series by Bryan Mitchell. Opening right after Infernal Fall ended, Daniel Strong was still going through some tough times. Although he got out of Hell with his slinging stones, the work wasn’t done yet. Something terrifying was stalking Daniel, and he had no idea what to do. On the other hand, Beau was in Grayton and preparing to get to Heaven, but things weren’t easy for him as well. However, it was Charles who had the hardest of times. He was heartless once again and had no idea who he must serve. To make matters worse, a female spirit was calling to him, and it was getting harder to ignore her. An angel named Chance was dogging all three of them, and it was once again up to Daniel to find a solution, or else everything would be lost forever.
What a sequel it was! Almost Paradise was everything I was expecting and wanted from the sequel to a mighty story like Infernal Fall. I loved Daniel’s character development and the way he grew. He was stronger now, a little bit surer of his abilities, and he was ready to take every action to make things work. The multiple POVs were a fantastic touch, and I was lost in the pages from the moment I started reading. Beau’s story was heart-wrenching; I wanted him to get to Heaven desperately! Charles’s progress was mind-blowing, and I loved it, to say the least. The narrative style was fantastic and had me riveted. I wanted to finish this story in a single sitting, but I forced myself to slow down and give the story my complete attention. Bryan Mitchell worked his magic with his words and created a story that will live on forever in my mind. The ending was outstanding, and, boy, was it fun! Highly recommended!
