What is the truth about the Roswell incident? But Alien Affairs by Scott Skipper isn't just about Roswell in the past. Fast forward seventy years to the future and the aliens make a return landing. Because Carrie's uncle learned and taught her the alien language, she is chosen as the person to help with the project of communicating with the newly invading aliens. Carrie is thrust into a new role and must conquer the stigmas she has learned about aliens and do her best for science and the rest of the world.
I loved the premise of Alien Affairs by Scott Skipper which fictionalizes the accounts of the alien landing at Roswell. There are so many unanswered questions about Roswell that it makes perfect sense to use it as a setting for a science fiction novel. I think even non science fiction readers have questioned what is out there and wondered just how much of a government conspiracy there was. What did the government know? What did they cover up? This book gives us those fictionalized answers and comes close to what some might say is the "truth" about Roswell.
This story reminded me a lot of the movie Mars Attacks! It had the same kind of feel and yet was interesting and educational. I think fans of science fiction and alien mythology will enjoy this story because of the sense that aliens are real and they can be vindicated for believing in something many people doubt out loud, but also secretly believe in.
