A Zombie’s Guide to Being Dead by Bruuuggghhhhh is a book written by a zombie for zombies. A handbook of sorts. The former Cassidy Heart, now known as Bruuuggghhhhh, provides an excellent resource for the undead. She defines the term zombie, explains how they keep unliving, gives advice on integrating into living society, and talks about dealing with the smell of being undead. As if that weren’t enough advice, she goes even further by expressing fashion do’s and don’ts for the undead, dating as a zombie, legal rights as a zombie, and how to unlive happily ever after. It is a gold mine, or rather ghoul mine, of 100 pages that could serve as a guide for the unliving dead.
A Zombie’s Guide to Being Dead by Bruuuggghhhhh is absolutely hilarious. In the beginning, our undead friend explains how once she died everything between she and her friends changed. I laughed as Bruuuggghhhhh explained how the rigor mortis kept her from being able to hit the elevator button. Bruuuggghhhhh’s tongue-in-cheek humor (does she still have a tongue or a cheek?) was fresh, clever, and I enjoyed every single page of this book from Introduction to Conclusion. I liked it when she explained that the reason zombies eat brains is because it is fun to smash people’s heads open, plus the brain is delicious. If you are having a bad day, be glad that you are one of the unliving, and sit down and read A Zombie’s Guide to Being Dead for a few hundred laughs to brighten your day.
