Gary Eagan was shocked when the sheriff arrested him for theft. The ventriloquist had been a popular entertainer at the Placid Hotel and Casino for many years. Eagan turned to his old friend John Michaels, magician and private investigator, for help. Eagan’s lawyer, Wayne McCarthy, called Michaels with Eagan’s request for help and a cryptic message bringing Michaels to the conclusion that Eagan was innocent but knew more than he had told his lawyer. Although Eagan knows he is innocent and Michaels believes in his innocence it is a fact that the case against Eagan is tightly clad. Michaels keeps his investigation under cover since he has been called as a witness. Utilizing his talents as a magician and his logical mind and ability to fit the pieces of a puzzle together, Michaels solves the mystery.

"A Pocket Full of Voice" is Alfred M. Albers's third novel in the 'John Michaels series'. Albers creates a sense of urgency and desperation in "A Pocket Full of Voice". The suspense quickly builds and the twists and turns keep the reader guessing all the way to the end. Albers is a professional magician with 35 years of study and experience under his belt. He utilized his knowledge in developing his lead character, John Michaels. Albers's characters are realistic. "A Pocket Full of Voice" is a well-written, entertaining, suspense-filled mystery that will keep readers eagerly turning pages. I suggest the reader curl up next to a warm fire with a pot of fresh brewed tea on a cold snowy winter day while reading this book. Why you may ask . . . you will not want to lay this book down even long enough to walk to the kitchen for a refill. Alfred M. Albers is a talented author and one you will want to add to your list of mystery writers.
