Author Richard Holmberg invites you to assume the responsibilities required in achieving the goals that God has set for you in his book, A Passport to God: Parables and Fables. This is a collection of stories inspired by the teachings of the Bible. Just like a passport given to individuals to travel abroad, this book brings you the message of change, of facing realities in preparation for entering the Kingdom of Heaven. These parables and fables are written for readers of all ages, and each story enables you to pick an underlying lesson or philosophical idea that will make you think. In Ape and Man, you are treated to a tale about a comparative look at man and his primate cousins. In The Right Side, it tells you about what happens to those who pick the wrong side. Cruelty is a story to remind you that inconvenience does not justify selfish actions. These are samples of how thought-provoking this anthology is.
From a theological perspective, Richard Holmberg’s collection of parables and fables has ideas and lessons of their own where you are welcome to agree or disagree. Holmberg upholds biblical teachings in the tradition of parables credited to Christ as a brilliant storyteller. Similarly, Holmberg’s fables will touch your heart and mind and help you to better connect with and reinforce the foundations of your faith. He states that his opportunity to express the words of God comes through the wind around him. He writes with a force of divine inspiration that makes his stories fascinating and encouraging through the genres that Christ and Aesop have made popular. A Passport to God makes an interesting piece for discussion because the stories here have the purpose of moving you to a decision or action.
