A Murder of Crows by Anita Klumpers begins with Paulina Deacon, Pauli, talking to and watching her friend John on an app he designed as she drives to his location to surprise him. When she arrives, she sees a commotion—three strangers, a gun, and crows screeching and swooping. A shot rings out, and John is on the ground, shot between the eyes. She flees and is pursued. Pauli’s nightmare has just begun and takes many twists and turns before it ends. She finds refuge in a small town and takes a job at a rehab under a false name. Hal, the rehab director, is suspicious but gives her a chance. She doesn’t plan to stay long enough for them to find out she isn’t who she says she is. As events unfold, Pauli is hunted, threatened, tormented, chased, and found. Pauli’s pursuers are unlikely and shocking. Can she tell someone once she puts all the pieces together and knows who she is running from? How many will suffer because she has come to town? With all the deception and chaos, who can she trust?

A Murder of Crows is a fast-paced Christian mystery romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Anita Klumpers gives us a well-written, well-thought-out story of intrigue, mystery, murder, and romance. Her characters are flawless. Her storyline and development are beautifully done. A Murder of Crows draws you in immediately and holds your attention until the last word. The only disappointment is that the book ends. Anita takes us on an emotional journey with Pauli through the trauma and terror of what she has seen, the fear and stress of being hunted, the emotions of a love lost and a possible new love developing, and everything along the way. The vocabulary throughout the book is stunning and lifts this book to a new level. This is a thrilling and exciting read, and I highly recommend it. Well done, Anita.
