Anna Casamento Arrigo was born in Sorrentini, Sicily and came to America with her family and settled in New Jersey.
After suffering a stroke, she turned to writing as a means of expressing her innermost thoughts through visionary prose. Inspired by music, poetry, and the classics of literature, Casamento Arrigo truly encompasses the breadth and scope of the written word.
Having taught inner-city students prior to her stroke, Casamento Arrigo understands full well what it means to need inspiration. Between the success found at her hands, and the successful impartation of love, creativity, and understanding, on to her five children and her 12 grandchildren, Casamento- Arrigo has accomplished a great deal.
She has penned several books, including a memoir, an electrifying romance, ten collections of poems and art, as well as several children’s books.
Casamento-Arrigo continues to make great progress toward complete recovery .She is, presently,working on several additional children’s books,as well as, another memoir ,a collection of short stories,and,yet,another collection of poetry!

There’s nothing quite so strong and special as a mother’s love for her daughter. The mother-daughter bond begins at birth as the love from mother to newborn offers reassurance and care; it develops and strengthens throughout the growing-up years until such time as the daughter becomes an adult and the love flows equally back and forth between mother and daughter. The wonders of a walk on the beach with Mommy; the thrill of climbing high in the tree to hear the birds sing; the joy of listening to yet another fairy tale so carefully crafted and shared; and then the daughter becomes the caregiver, listening and sharing, caring and giving comfort and telling stories. It’s the purest form of unconditional love.
Anna Casamento Arrigo’s picture book story, A Child’s Love, will have you in tears before you finish. This is a beautiful, touching, compassionate story about a mother and her daughter. Told in rhyming verse and accompanied by colorful illustrations, the story traces the cycle of life from the birth of a daughter through her growing-up years to the time when the roles reverse and the daughter cares for the aging, sick mother. Very much in the style of Robert Munsch and his popular children’s book, Love You Forever, this story weaves a web of compassion and love around the heartstrings: “Mommy, Mommy have I told you I love you so,/ And I’ll love you always wherever you may go!” The warmth and love that exist between a mother and her daughter are eternal and are so profoundly unveiled in touching words like, “When you reach the fairyland,/ Will you promise to still always hold my hand?” Reach for another tissue and snuggle up with your own mother and/ or daughter. Loved it!
