A Business of Your Own: A Future You Can Count On by Theodore Folkert is slim but powerful nonfiction, a business book for those who want to own their own businesses. In this book, the author offers wonderful advice on how to acquire an ongoing business or start one, and how to create lasting value from it. It is not surprising to anyone that the career landscape has changed over the years and, with the demands of contemporary culture, having a lucrative job isn’t enough to secure one’s future. No wonder that those who work in offices or who follow a profession struggle to make ends meet. The idea of owning and running one’s business has become very popular in recent years, and this book will teach readers what they need to know about starting and successfully running one.
The reader will understand the basics of entrepreneurship and the principles of effective business operations, the concept of self-employment, what they need to know when selecting the type of business to run, and what they need to consider before buying a new business, and a lot more. Theodore Folkert’s writing is simple and very accessible, and the author writes with a voice that rings with a lot of confidence. I enjoyed the relevant and practical examples and how the author brings his real-life experiences into the work. This book isn’t long, but it contains a lot of wonderful pieces of advice for would-be or wannabe entrepreneurs. A Business of Your Own: A Future You Can Count On is your road map to successful business ownership.
