Being a tween brings its own set of pressures and expectations as you're about to begin your adolescent years and just shy of being a teenager. Kathleen Boucher's 9 Ways to Empower Tweens #Lifeskills is a self-help guidebook in which twelve-year-old twins Emma and Elliot offer practically applicable insights and tools to help tweens navigate what can be a tumultuous time in their lives. Having grown up on a farm in Ontario, Canada, Emma and Elliot use the knowledge and experience imparted to them by their parents, teachers, and elders to help fellow tweens improve their self-confidence and belief so they can be the best version of themselves. The twins encourage readers to develop a good work ethic, eliminate procrastination, and try to make a good first impression on others. They also provide techniques to negate feelings of anger, despair, and frustration.
Kathleen Boucher's 9 Ways to Empower Tweens #Lifeskills is a book every tween will find helpful regardless of their background. The fact that the book is narrated by two twelve-year-olds makes the content all the more relatable for the targeted readers. Nowadays, stress and anxiety seem to be more prevalent amongst children due to the sheer competitive pressure environment they face in school, social life, and sometimes even at home. This is why books like this go a long way to help them overcome the challenges of their age. I found this to be an informative read and will recommend it to tweens and parents alike.
