Dr. Eckhard Schnabel, author of "40 Questions about The End Times", is a professor of The New Testament at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He shares his expertise in this instructive book. Most pastors avoid discussions and sermons on the end times: they feel it is too controversial or too complicated. The questions addressed in this book are the ones laymen ask, including: Will the church be raptured? What are the signs of the end? Is John’s vision to be taken literally? Who is the lawless one? Who is the beast? What is the meaning of the number 666? What and who is the Antichrist? Where will Jesus return? What is the New Jerusalem?
The Dr. Schnabel shares the definition of important terms and abbreviations in the introduction. "40 Questions" is in-depth and yet easily understood if the reader has a bit of Christian training. The questions are divided into four categories: general questions concerning the future, questions concerning the return of Jesus, questions concerning the millennium and last judgment, and interpreting the end times. He utilizes scripture references to support his statements. The author also addresses divergent views. At the end of each chapter Schnabel has a summary to assist the reader in understanding the subject further. There are questions for reflection that reinforce the theme of the chapter. This book will be an invaluable reference resource for pastors, teachers and laymen. The questions are relevant and practical. The doctor’s answers offer the readers a fresh look at the matter.
