Looking for a great, imaginative adventure? Join the Zippitty Bears and fly to wondrous worlds in Zippitty Bears by J.R. Poulter. The Zippitty bears take the young character in the story on an absolutely amazing adventure that defies the imagination. Who would have thought that these bears could ride, slip, and slide on the tail of a meteor trail? The bears and the young character explore not only outer space, but other interesting lands, all while dreaming and allowing their imaginations to work.

The illustrations by Ankolie are just incredible; bright, bursting with colour and action so one doesn’t really need words to tell the story. This is the kind of picture book that excites a young reader’s imagination and each page has details that readers will enjoy exploring. The bears are adorable with their little wings and they know how to have fun, no matter where they go. The idea of one’s imagination being limitless is very appealing and will nurture creativity and encourage kids to realise that their imaginations know no bounds.

I enjoyed the idea that many different fantasy worlds and environments exist for children to explore – they meet new people, they investigate different places, see new and strange creatures, and taste different foods. This story encourages young readers to be open to new experiences and cultures. The comic book style is very appealing to youngsters and this makes reading something pleasurable and exciting. The narrative is lovely as well, quite rhythmic, and in tune with the story’s events. A lovely story to be shared with family members.
