Rachel Clark and Will Reynolds have been inseparable since they met in second grade. They are now both 13 years old and have their own business. At present, it involves doing the lawn at the Isles View Hotel. When they happen to find treasure on the beach one day, it sends them on a journey to discover the true owner. Could it be part of the notorious pirate Blackbeard’s lost booty? Then there is also the issue of Will leaving to visit his mother in California. Can their friendship last through this separation and will they discover the true identity of the owner of the coins? Find out in Terri DeMitchell’s You Will Come Back: Olde Locke Beach Mystery, Book 1.

You Will Come Back has all the perfect attributes that make it an amazing read. There are two loyal and stubborn protagonists. There are ghosts, pirates, and treasure. There is a mystery and an ideal setting with a rich history of piracy. Terri DeMitchell has created a perfect balance with well-rounded and relatable characters. They are also likable. There is a gentle stimulation of all the senses without overwhelming them, which makes this book suitable for young readers of thirteen years old and up. Character growth is evident, and the plot is well-planned. This is a story to indulge the imagination and awaken the treasure hunters and mystery solvers in all of us. I look forward to the next Olde Locke Beach Mystery to find out what else Rachel and Will are up to.
