Brendan Clark, age 18 grew up on the west side in Chicago,IL.He have been writing short stories, poetry etc..since the 8 Th grade. Even when He was in the 8 grade he didn't know if he like writing at all. But ever since that day in the 8th grade English,he started writing poetry like pro. He have been writing and together a poetry book of his own and just publish it on amazon.com, which he title it " words from an unknown poet". For many years now Brendan has been trying to figure what to do with his life. As of today Brendan is a freshman college student at Northeastern Illinois University on Chicago's Northside where he plan to communications as his major.

'Words from an Unknown Poet (Volume 1) (English and Spanish Edition)' by Brendan Clark is a collection of poems by a young poet who manages to create a distinct impression with this collection. The poems reveal the poet's emotions and inner struggle which he finds difficult to reveal otherwise. A person who is shy to speak about himself, he found himself comfortable speaking through his poems. He speaks about the problems he faces in his life and school. Most of the topics covered by the poet are school related, to do with his emotions, and political views.
The collection is an inspiration for youngsters to try writing poetry. The poet has written a poem for his home, Chicago, and all the poems have something personal to do with the writer. The poems have come from the heart and it strikes a chord within readers. They are honest and straightforward. My personal favorite in the collection is 'September.' 'September' has wonderful imagery. There are two poems dedicated to Chicago and a poem dedicated to Obama. There is a positive streak in almost all the poems which makes them a refreshing read. The student/teacher-themed poem is another good poem in this collection.
The style is simple, neat, and straightforward. The poet has opened up his mind and exposed his feelings to the reader. The collection is also an inspiration for youngsters to divert their energies into something constructive instead of channeling them into a negative path. The poet's ability to see the positive side in things makes this an exciting read.
