The Hiccups are getting ready for the 125th World Waterslide Championship, which has been voted as the coolest sport in the universe by millions of Hiccups for eleven straight years. Among the many competitors are Derf and the super sliding twin sisters Enna and Anne. Derf has won the Waterslide Championship three times in a row. He is planning on winning this year’s competition to set a Championship record since no Hiccup has ever won the Championship four times in a row. Enna and Anne − who have taken second place three times in a row in the Championships − are also planning on winning their first Championship title in this competition. However, something happens to Derf just as the competition starts, forcing the twin sisters to make a tough choice. What happens to Derf? Who wins the Championship title? Find out in Dave W. Balls’ Wild Waterslide Race.
Dave W. Ball’s Wild Waterslide Race is just what you should be looking for if you love sports and children’s picture books. Dave loads an intriguing plot with unusual twists and exciting characters. He enhances vivid depictions with colorful imagery, making the reading experience enthralling and fun. He develops his characters, making some of them as irresistibly adorable as he makes some loathsome. I could not help but dislike the mean Enna. Anne on the other hand stole my heart. She is smart and has a big heart. Dave’s short read will inculcate important values in your kid, virtues such as honesty, integrity, sincerity, kindness, and patience among many more. I loved how he elaborates on and encourages the aspect of “putting yourself in someone else’s shoes” when solving problems. This story will change your kid’s perspective on many things positively.
