Dianne Miller’s children’s preschool picture book, Why Not, features Little Bunny and his mother and what happens when any misguided action is taken, which usually results in some sort of negative reaction. The tale is told in such a way that it enfolds you in a warm kind of comfort, as the mother of Little Bunny is much like most mothers, with a kind, but direct voice. The illustrations, also created by Dianne Miller, are delightfully effective and bring everything into perfect harmony.
Why Not by Dianne Miller sent me hurtling back through time to the 1980s and my own “Why not’s”. Leaving fingerprints all over the glass was something I was fairly famous for. What I like so much about the Little Bunny series is that it really educates children on proper etiquette without being in your face while teaching. The stories are told in such a charismatic way that learning good behavior is just one of the many byproducts that come when reading one of Dianne Miller’s books.
I feel that any young child who is learning would get a lot out of reading Dianne Miller’s book, Why Not. It relates a normal day in Little Bunny’s life that easily translates into our own days and how one is meant to behave in the world around them. The perfect gift to be had for your own Little Bunnies who are learning more about the ins and outs of their environment day by day.
