Whooo's Coming to Dinner? by Amy Sellers is a delightful and charming collection of rhymes for kids that will introduce them to many new words, concepts and ideas in a very good way. The colorful characters, bright illustrations and sing-along CD that comes with the book will captivate children. In this book, Amy introduces kids to different food items like jelly beans, peas, spaghetti and also animals in a fun way that children will find appealing. The rhyming verses are lyrical and the illustrations make it an interactive and entertaining book for kids; the sing-along CD helps them sing the rhymes.
I would recommend this book for all kids as it is the perfect book for them to learn about new words, ideas, concepts and names of food items. It makes them look at these things in a different way and stimulates their thinking power. I found the illustrations bright and vivid and just the right type for children to get pulled into the book. 'Five Happy Olives' is really cute. It not only teaches kids about olives but also about the number five and fingers. All the rhymes teach kids something.
The book makes a good bedtime read and parents and grandparents can read it out to kids and grand kids. The sing-along CD is really helpful. The book also will make good read aloud material in children's libraries and classrooms. A perfect book for kids!
