"Who Got Liz Gardner" by Elizabeth Allen is about a young woman growing up in the 70's and as she matures into a woman through the 80's and 90's. She desperately tries not to follow in her mother's footsteps (married 5 times and still looking for a new husband) or those of her father (a psychiatrist and full-time philanderer). The story follows Liz as she deals with her parents' divorce, goes off to college, and pursues her acting career in New York and beyond. Liz likes men, good food, and well, great sex; we get to sample all of these and more in the book.
What woman doesn't want a friend who not only has the backbone to say whatever she wants but also does whatever she wants? Liz Gardner is that friend, and she tries to live every day of her life without regret. The frank language and sexual descriptions in the book lend itself nicely to how real people speak and act. Looking for a little juicy Hollywood gossip? Interested in who Liz was with last night? Liz won't hold back with anyone, including her mother. If you are looking for an easy read that is scandalous and steamy, pick up "Who Got Liz Gardner" and spend a little time with Liz.
