When the Great Spirit Walked Among Us by Terry M. Wildman is an uplifting book that translates the Bible and has the gospels written as a story. The book retells the sacred writings for Native Americans and the author refreshes and renews the minds of the followers of Jesus through this book. The story here is familiar, but is made interesting through a different voice with wonderful insights and meanings as it tells of the time when the Great Spirit walked among us. The Gospel is told in four separate accounts attributed to Matthew, Mark, John and Luke.
Though the Scriptures have been retold in this book, it does not lose its meaning or the original message. The author has taken great care and effort to include every verse in the book. The story will make readers go back to read it again and again for their own personal devotional purposes. The story of Jesus has always inspired people and motivated them to bring about good changes in their thinking and daily lives. The simple narration will help the book to reach a wider audience as it can be comprehended easily and they can use the teachings of the Great Spirit to transform themselves. The glossary of names at the end of the book is useful in identifying the names and who they are. The author has done a great job in creating this story. I would recommend this book to readers as they can enjoy the New Testament with a Native American flavor.
