The Son of God Series Book 1: Unto Us by Sharon Lindsay opens with a vivid portrait of the creation and the battle between God and Lucifer for the souls of Adam and Eve. The scene is set for the coming of Our Lord, but fourteen-year-old Mary’s parents don’t believe she is carrying the Messiah. Satan’s devils await their chance to plant doubt in the mind of Mary herself, until the Holy Spirit dismisses it: “Blessed is his daughter Mary, who trusts in him.” Joseph, whom she is pledged to marry, rejects Mary, ashamed that she is carrying another man’s child, for how else can a baby be conceived? The angels of God and devils of Lucifer battle for his soul… certainty… doubt... When Mary’s child is born, will she be acknowledged as the virgin mother of the Son of God?
“Unto us a child is born” echoed around my head when I read the title of Sharon Lindsay’s first book in The Son of God series. It is a very traditional phrase and turned out to be totally inappropriate. Firmly grounded in the Bible, and well-researched so the people, real and fictional, and the last months BC, are accurate, this is a vibrant picture of the ultimate power struggle between good and evil. No fantasy could match it for readability. The Son of God Series Book 1: Unto Us is an incredible story for Christians and non-Christians alike; all will be astounded by its dramatic revelation of an undeniable truth.
