Six Arizona-based authors present an anthology of poetry, essays and short fiction from their collective works. They are all compiled in the book “Under Sonoran Skies”. I am sure readers will be taken away with these writings about a lot of different situations and places. I liked the two sections, 'Places Far and Near' and 'The Changing West' because I enjoyed reading about the different places and scenes, such as a barn, patio, or a Sunset. And the different writing styles gave each one a different flavor.
“Under Sororan Skies” will have you hoping from one format to another, and the many authors and their style of writing will have you flip flopping all over. There is no theme to this book, so it goes from one topic to a completely different one. Some are really great writings and as with any book like this, some are more fun and enjoyable than others. But this is all good. I like it.
Someone called this book brain candy, and that is just my thoughts about it as well. This is not a book I would read straight through at one setting, but it is a great book when you need just a quick light enjoyable read. I also like that you can skip around reading what you want to read, and not have to read it in order. Over all, I liked it very well and recommend it, especially for those who don’t care for reading an entire book, or someone who doesn’t like to read. This book is so different that it has something for everyone to enjoy! So why not grab a copy and enjoy it?
