Tulip (a troll) thought she would find something new and also have fun hiding in Swede’s rucksack, only to find herself lonely and lost under a bridge in a new land. Luckily, Bossy the cat finds her under the bridge. Although Tulip had never seen a cat and Bossy had never seen a troll, they both become fast friends. Tulip was lost and the only way she could get back home (to Troll country) was by finding Swede. Bossy offers to help Tulip find Swede, but before they leave, Virginia and Don find them. Virginia K. White yanked me from reality and sent me hurtling to wonderland with her amazing story, Tulip’s Disappearing Act. The short and simple sentences and choice of words make the book very understandable for youngsters. The author forges an engrossing plot inspired by a strong sense of adventure. Virginia K. White exhibits her prowess in narration and her imaginative ability with her vivid depictions. It gets even better with the beautiful and colorful pictures that accompany the narration. Some of the conversations are witty and no doubt kids will be left in stitches. All this made the reading experience fun. The characters in the book were amazing and wonderfully developed. Through her caring and loving nature, Tulip wins the hearts of her new friends.
