Rachel Knight is back, and this time Rachel and the rest of her trio, Bailey and Toni, are off on a Caribbean adventure. Intending to relax and get some sun, imagine the girls' surprise when they have to solve a crime along the way! With a child missing, it's no laughing matter, but with reality stars, nothing is for sure. The gang have a lot of work cut out for them before they can get back to the beach and those cute boys playing in the surf...
Having never read one of the Rachel Knight books before, I have to admit that I was a little lost at first, but things picked up right away. I was able to dive seamlessly into the story and mystery right along with Rachel and the gang. The story itself was interesting, if a little silly at times. This is one of those reads you like to enjoy to really pull you out of a bad day and get your mood up a bit.
If I had a complaint, it was that the book was too short. I was unaware that it was just a "short story" and was taken aback when things moved so quickly. While everything was detailed and explained accurately, there was a lot missing. I feel that Marcia could easily expand this novella into a full-blown book. Readers would probably get that much more of a kick from it, especially those who are already fans of the series.
