Tressia and Other Stories by D C Mallery is a collection of eight short stories and a short novel for fans of science fiction, drama, suspense, and dystopia.
In Tressia and Other Stories, D C Mallery looks deep into the human soul and asks us what it takes to remain human while facing disastrous situations. Mallery touches on the themes of loneliness, immortality, and longing for home in Tressia. The novel has impressive world-building and vibrant, complex characters, like Dr. Reeves Saunders, who is always ready to fight for humanity in the dangerous and unique world of Tressia. Mallery offers an interesting concept of biocyber intelligence, or Clio, combining the features of a human and AI. The author also explores whether it is worth clinging to our past achievements, even if they are our legacy, or to create something new in a new reality. The novel and the short stories are fast-paced and very compelling. I enjoyed the element of suspense in Tressia and The Day of the Return of the Faces and the touch of dry humor in Thanksgiving Day, 10:13 am, Eastern Standard Time, and Installation #17. Mallery enthralls us with intriguing scientific theories in Fireworks and a Kiss at the End of Time. I highly recommend Tressia and Other Stories to those who enjoy sci-fi adventure with a philosophical twist.
