Thinking Guide for Busy People is a short but powerful book on how to avoid making decisions that will harm your life, whether that is emotionally, economically, or even morally. This book offers ten different cognitive biases that you will most definitely recognize within yourself. Each chapter comes with a solution, also with information about what each bias looks like; it could be a person, an investment, a product, a new trend, among others. Harvey Smart explains how each cognitive bias can occur and also when it is most likely to happen. He also gives examples and a little back story for the reader, so he/she can have a deeper understanding of the bias. It only takes ten steps to change your life in many ways.
This book has struck a chord with me. Currently living in this consumerist world and reality, it is hard to know what is good for us and to see beyond the options laid out for us. Thinking Guide for Busy People is a masterpiece when it comes to pieces of advice and explanations about what we should be doing to improve our economic and moral health. I must confess I rarely read these kinds of books, but this one is for sure a great read. I have personally learned about myself, even about the people close to me. Harvey Smart has a manner of explaining himself, which makes the entire read easy-going and understandable. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a change in this fast-moving world filled with doubt.
