Today is the day for Mr. and Mrs. Tiger's cubs to be born and all of the forest animals were waiting around to see the babies. When they were born, everyone could see that one baby cub was different, but Thiago the Tiger's family loved him just like he was. It was when he started school that the giggling and teasing started. Thiago was so sad that he even tried covering himself so he wouldn't be mocked. But it wasn't until the entire classroom of students was in a dire situation that Thiago the Tiger shone through. Author Vanessa Caraveo writes a relevant story that is much-needed in our world today.
Thiago the Tiger and the Light Within is the sweetest, most adorable book inside and out. I love that this story teaches children that it is okay to be different, no matter who you are, and to accept those who are different, no matter how different. I believe so many situations could be avoided if children are taught these lessons early in life. I appreciate Vanessa Caraveo writing this special book for children everywhere to read. And I can't leave out the oh so cute illustrations, also by Vanessa Caraveo. Thiago's sad face is so precious it made me want to hug him. The kangaroo and monkey are very cute, and Mrs. Hippo is the most gorgeous teacher I've ever seen. The bright and vibrant colors will have kids grabbing this book from shelves everywhere. I highly recommend Thiago the Tiger and the Light Within for any small child's library, the libraries of any daycare, pre-school, kindergarten class, elementary school, and any other place children will be. As you can see, I fell in love with this book and I hope you and your child will too.
