The Yogini With A Thousand Eyes by Francine Juhasz is an exciting novel with a meditative and yogic theme that will enable readers to step into a higher level of consciousness. Set in Amsterdam, this is the story of Annajoy who finds ecstasy in her mundane life which helps her break from the reverie of trivialities. The art galleries and canals of Amsterdam elevate her mood and thinking, unlike ordinary people. But, unfortunately, Annajoy is unable to inspire others to see the mysticism hidden behind the canals and streets of Amsterdam. Annajoy’s character and her spirit take readers into another dimension which is not usually trod by a normal person.

Annajoy’s character reflects a sense of freedom and free spiritedness which is exhilarating and cathartic. I found the story boldly peppered with spiritual undertones and mysticism that will make readers think about the way we can look at daily life. The spiritual angle with which the main character views the city in which she lives is original and dramatic and her life opens another window in the mind of readers.

On the whole, this book stands out for its imaginative and creative thinking and how the finer details and symbolism of daily events is highlighted for readers to delve more into it. It is more of an avant-garde type of story which has its own appeal. The nuances and the fine touches of writing by the author make it a pleasure to read.
