The Vagrant Chronicle, written by Paul L. Centeno and narrated by Pavi Proczko, is an audiobook that would appeal most to a mixed audience of adults and mature young adults who enjoy fantasy fiction and do not mind violent scenes. The world of Bra’dune has withered, leaving only a tainted world behind filled with mysterious happenings that seem to go unheeded by most. However, the humyn Mor’reius Krelsin feels empathy towards the children that have become victims of kidnapping and seeks to save them from the fate he suffered. Will one vagrant humyn be enough to save not just the children but all of Bra’dune or will he perish?
The Vagrant Chronicle by Paul L. Centeno was quite the audiobook. I found the author did a tasteful job of combining mystery, suspense, and action elements together into one story without letting any single aspect overshadow the others. The level of violence in the action scenes was not off-putting to me in the least as it only added to the feeling of suspense and increased my motivation to finish the audiobook. I really enjoyed following Mor’reius Krelsin as he was quite an interesting character with his background as both an orphan and vagrant, especially when combined with his empathy toward the kidnapped children.
The narrator of this audiobook is Pavi Proczko, an accomplished voice actor with numerous audiobooks to his name. He has previously shown his talent in narrating Eden's Gate: The Sparrow, Asgard's Fall, and Sky Realms Online: Silverpeak. The narrator’s previous experience is quite obvious in his sublime narration and his portrayal of character voices. I really liked the way he voiced the different characters as it helped me to really picture the story in my head.
