"The Student’s Advantage" by Wyne Ince, part of the iUseMyBrain2 project, is more than inspirational. It is informative, encouraging and expertly presented. Part 1, Getting Started, is an honest discussion of the importance of education whilst also acknowledging that not everyone is cut out for high level studies. However, whatever occupation you decide to pursue, you should study it and find out all you can about it in preparation. Knowledge is power. Ince makes the crucial point that many youngsters who think they are not smart enough for college are wrong. Smart is not who you are; it is how you are. It is what you are prepared to do. There are many things you can do to make yourself smart. The seven learning secrets are excellently presented too and photos and illustrations brighten up the text and attract you to read on. Part 2 consists of the student’s success road map where we follow Victoria through her education and other choices and the author shows how the reader can learn from her experiences and decisions. Part 3 gives great advice on staying motivated.

The author’s approach is always chatty and encouraging, never condescending. Options are clearly laid out and each paragraph gives advice and tips. Read this and you’ll be perfectly equipped to make the most of the opportunities that present themselves to you. All the material is well-presented. You are told what you are going to learn in each section. You learn it through discussion and illustration, and then there is a summary that prompts action. There are also a worksheet, case studies, suggested further reading material and even an anthem! If there is a youngster at secondary education or beyond in your household, they simply must read this eye- and mind-opening book. They'll have a whole new approach to studying.

Wyne Ince is a highly educated man with a passion for education. His book "The Students Advantage: Your Guide to Getting the Most Out of School and Creating a Fabulous Future!" is an easy to read tool for high school students. The author not only provides guidance in decision making but also encourages journaling as the reader progresses through the book. They are further encouraged to go back at a later time to reflect on their own answers and where they are now. The encouragement that the author gives is quite motivational and valid. The student will find each chapter informative and useful to their own educational journey.

As a parent with a high school freshman, I embrace anything that will assist my child in preparing for her future. Though she is much ahead than most students of her age, the book excites me as it is something I believe she will find useful in her plans. This is one of those books/tools that every school should have not only in their library but also in their career center/counseling offices. There is so much at stake nowadays just to graduate from high school alone. Add to it the competitiveness of college, technical schools and even jobs themselves; you have an uphill battle to contend with right out of the gate. It is great to have something that makes sense at the tip of my fingers to assist my own child in her decision making process!

This is a practical and motivating guide for both students and their parents for understanding the keys to succeed in school, the importance of investigating potential career interests, and the need to take an active role in preparing for the years ahead. Each chapter is standalone and can be referenced in any order. The Student’s Success Roadmap provides informative and revelatory exercises, which correspond to each section and will open readers’ minds to new opportunities and possibilities. Along the way, practical devices like the Seven Learning Secrets and comprehensive introductions to the challenges, opportunities, and credentials associated with various career tracks are presented in a candid and accessible fashion. Beyond the pages of "The Student’s Advantage", additional resources are available to readers online at www.themotivators.net, and a supplemental DVD.

"The Student's Guide" is a must for high school learners, college students and in fact for anyone embarking upon study. In plain language and with many true-to-life examples and quotes the book encourages readers to define their goals, both in study and life. With its motivating tasks and inspiring questions, the student is able to understand how to study, how to ask questions, how to use their brains, and how to put this knowledge to good use. Author Wyne Ince asks readers to define their concept of success and wealth, both personal and material, as a means of defining their path. Investing in education means investing in oneself. The readers learn just how important skills are in life, and how achieving them immediately puts one on a higher level, opening doors to a better standard of living. The book is an invaluable guide to creating a life road map for success, and very importantly, keeping motivation and personal drive running high and sticking to goals. There is an excellent reading list, as well as a list of good fiction books and movies to appeal to young students. Also included are useful links to a variety of career options. I encourage parents to get hold of a copy of this valuable and inspiring book now. Highly recommended.
