In The Sheriff Takes A Bride, Sheriff Zeke Oakley has two problems – raiders attacking homesteads and an exasperating girl named Spring. It's just possible that the raiders are the lesser of the two evils. First, I have to say, that cover alone is enough to get me to read a book by this superbly talented author. But, even if the book didn't have that cover, Tess Matthews' talent and story line would have been the hooker for me. She's a truly talented author and knew just what to give her readers. Instantly hooking me, I stayed up all night to finish this book. The historical elements were amazing, the characters witty.
As a person who has suffered loss, this book really captivated me. I felt a lot of Spring's emotions. And, as a person who has a bit of a temper, I could sympathize with her. Her character really was charming and witty, and I loved reading every second of her story. Zeke's character is a true fun one for me. I loved his character. From the minute he was introduced, I followed him closely and envied Spring on many an occasion throughout the story.
A book filled with passion, wit and characters that will quickly steal your heart, Ms. Matthews' The Sheriff Takes A Bride is highly recommended. Ms. Matthews' writing style is refreshing and captivating. From start to finish, she hooks the reader and keeps their focus on the story. I can't wait to read another book just like it from this highly talented author! Well done, Ms. Matthews! Well done!
