The Sharing Bear: A Wise Baby Book by Mark Schustrin is part of a series designed with the youngest readers in mind. Each book starts with a short inspirational quote, just right for young minds. The book is filled with rhyming verse that rolls off the tongue. Sharing Bear is a shaggy guy who loves watermelons! He purchases a watermelon at the store one day and heads off to enjoy it. Along comes one of his friends, and he decides to share his bounty, but the story does not end there. What will Sharing Bear do with the rest of his watermelon? Kids will enjoy searching for the lotus hidden on each page. A companion website offers tips, activities, and mindfulness explorations.

The Sharing Bear by Mark Schustrin is a wonderful way to share important values with infants and toddlers. Schustrin has mastered the art of teaching a powerful lesson in a simple and engaging story. Infants and toddlers have short attention spans, but the rhyming verse and surprising tale will captivate them. Even though this series is designed for babies, older children and adults will enjoy the thought-provoking wisdom that is shared effortlessly. Though uncomplicated, the story will stick with kids for a long time. The pastel illustrations by Sam Island are perfect. They are bold, bright, and full of color.
