The Road Not Taken by E. A. Coe is the story of two people who met once again and decided to love each other, even though circumstances were less than ideal for them. Siena and Tyrell decided to go their separate ways after high school. Siena “Seeney” became a bookkeeper in their home town and Tyrell “Ty” became a pilot in the Marine Corps. The two went on completely different paths but they met once again during their high school reunion. There, the sparks ignited once more and they decided to give their love a second chance. Their love was not going to be easy, but they weren’t expecting it to be so difficult. When their love is tested by time and put on trial, will they be able to get past it all? Are they even meant to be together?

The moment I read the title, I knew I was going to love The Road Not Taken by E. A. Coe. It is romantic to its core and makes readers feel the love through the cleverly chosen words. This is realistic fiction at its best. You don’t have a character with a tortured soul and the other trying to put the broken pieces of his heart together. This is a story of two people who are well-matched and fit together really well. This story shows the good side of living in a small community where everyone pays attention and everyone supports you. Seeney and Ty’s story is simple yet it is perfect in its reality and believability. Both of them are everyday characters, meaning that they are people we can easily come across in our daily lives. Something soothing about this story just kept me going and not wanting to stop. I loved this simple yet brilliant romance.
