The Rest of Forever is the story of Noah and Lindsey, who enter each other’s lives in the most unorthodox way possible. Lindsey is responsible for the death of Noah’s wife, Angeline, and the event impacts them both in the usual ways. Noah goes through his grief as expected, starting with anger at his wife's death, but eventually he starts to heal. Raising two children on his own isn’t easy, but slowly his world is still moving forward. When Lindsey comes around for forgiveness, they will both be tested in ways they never imagined. M. Elaine Moore did a good job creating a story about grief and forgiveness, and moving on after tragedy.

The story of Lindsey and Noah is unique, yet pretty much the same as any relationship. They have issues to overcome that propel the story forward, but their love is undeniable even if a bit controversial. The Rest of Forever is a good read, if a tad too religious at times. But what M. Elaine Moore did really well was show how that one event impacted both Noah and Lindsey. Sure, he lost his wife and the mother of his children, but she had to deal with actually taking someone’s life and that is the part of the story that really struck a chord with me. Her grief was palpable and it made her vulnerable, which made his brother’s and the congregation’s response to their romance a little hard to take. Noah is a gentle man with a loving nature, and the way he helped Lindsey rather than holding a grudge against her was beautiful and made this such a compelling story.
