Everyone searches for meaning and purpose in their lives. But what does it truly mean? Humans have a tendency to fall into instant gratification and dopamine-seeking behavior from time to time. However, according to Phillip F. Hsin, finding lasting happiness isn't akin to just short-term sensory indulgence. Raised in a first-generation Cambodian immigrant family in Portland, Oregon, Hsin built a successful career in the world of international investment and asset management. In The Passion Gap, the author offers readers practical tools and insights to finding lasting happiness. The book delves into the various sources from where happiness can be derived, how to break free of dysfunctional patterns, finding one's 'North Star,' developing a mindset of financial independence, discovering one's passion and integrating passionate traits into one's work, attaining the right balance between individual meaning and purpose to find lasting happiness, and more.

The Passion Gap is your all-in-one guide to finding success and lasting happiness on your own terms. This book is not your typical self-help guide but more of a roadmap to discovering values and virtues that bring purpose and meaning to a life of fulfillment. Apart from citing notable personalities from various fields, Phillip F. Hsin draws from his own life experiences to provide keen insights on how to approach life on a fundamental level. One of the many things I liked about this book is everything discussed in the pages can be practically applied in everyday life. The author presents the content in an accessible style and provides learning points and self-reflection exercises at the end of each chapter to ensure readers fully grasp the relevant subject matter. The Passion Gap is an informative and motivational handbook that I highly recommend.
